Accelerate Pressure Measurements with STS Sensors

Pressure sensors are vital in monitoring and controlling the processes of various applications and systems. As a component used in countless applications across industries such as aerospace, water, and oil and gas, pressure sensors provide important insights regarding the information expelled from these applications.

What Type of Materials Are STS Pressure Sensors Made of?

STS pressure transmitters are constructed of various housing materials. Depending on the conditions a sensor is placed in, a transmitter’s construction should utilize specific materials. There are different options a pressure transmitter can be built with such as stainless steel, titanium, Hastelloy, Inconel, PVDF (Kynar), etc.

The core technology in STS pressure sensors is piezoresistive technology. The ATM.1ST Pressure Transmitter provides a modular construction that offers manufacturing flexibility. All wet parts of this sensor are made of 316L stainless steel which provides long lasting durability long-term. Alternative construction materials for this sensor include titanium and Hastelloy.

What’s The Temperature Range of STS Sensors?

For the best performance, STS transmitters maintain good repeatability with changes in temperature. With a temperature range of 0 to 50°C, these transmitters are temperature compensated which is specified as temperature error band (TEB).

What’s the Accuracy of STS Sensors?

STS transmitters are comprised of different components of accuracy. Static accuracy is the most common which includes non-linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability which are measured under static conditions at ambient temperatures. Vibration, temperature changes, orientation, zero/span settings, and time, influences accuracy.
