De-Inking Cell

Recycling mills often have to remove unwanted ink from the stock. This is done by pumping air through the stock in a chamber or chest called a De-inking Cell. As the air bubbles rise to the top of the stock, unwanted ink and other "stickies" collect on the bubbles, which eventually form a foam on the top of the de-inkinking cell which is skimmed off.

Our Air Content Control System (ACCS) can optimize this process by providing a real time measurement of entrained air in the stock. The output from the ACCS can be used to drive air pumps or diffusers to obtain just the right amount of air and control the bubble size, which is critical to the de-inking process.
