Job Summary
The Micro Solder Technician is responsible for performing precision soldering and rework on electronic components and assemblies which may be used in aerospace systems. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and adherence to strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform micro soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), connectors, sensors, and fine-pitch components
- Assemble, modify, and repair electronic systems to meet specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Inspect solder joints using microscopes and other magnification tools
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and inspection results
- Follow strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and cleanroom protocols
- Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve technical issues
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Proven experience in micro soldering or electronics assembly (aerospace, defense, or medical preferred)
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods
- Familiarity with soldering tools, rework stations, and inspection equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in aerospace or defense manufacturing
- Certification in IPC standards (e.g., IPC J-STD-001)
