Load Cell / Force & Torque Transducers
The KA brand is established globally for its custom built high performance force and load transducers (sensors) specifically for motorsport applications. Ranges from 0-20 lbf to 0-6,000 lbf in tension, compression or bending at operating temperatures up to 275°F. Applications include Gearshift, Pushrods, Steering, Valves, Bump Stop, Crash Testing, Weight, Pedal and Aero.
GSS Series of miniature load cells are fitted into the gearbox control rod and designed for use in clutchless gearshift applications. During the gear change sequence the driver moves the gear lever as normal, the GSS series load cell detects the force applied to the gear shift lever, this force is measured by the ECU, then a series of control events take place that allows the gears to mesh with full throttle still applied.
The GST Series Gear Lever Load Cells are designed for the detection and measurement of tension/compression forces in gear shift applications. Installed directly on top of the gear lever, the load cell is fitted with an aluminum or nylon knob. Detection of the direct driver input force is made when selecting gears. The load cell has a pre amplified signal which is compatible with most ECU's, therefore ensuring a simple and reliable clutchless gear change strategy to be performed.
Typically this is a strain gauge applied and calibrated on a steering column or drive shaft. This is a custom service – see separate service for the strain gauging of push rods or items where a longitudinal (not twisting) force is applied.
KA Sensors are experts at the very precise application and calibration of stain gauges to key components. This is a custom service and typically applied to suspension push/pull rods (Force) and also drive/prop shafts and steering columns (Twisting/Torque). KA Sensors offers a full custom service to fit a wireless dynamic torque measuring sensor to a drive shaft. Available to both race teams and race car manufacturers the sensor can be designed, manufactured, calibrated and supplied to fit a wide range of drive shaft diameters.

Designed to be a self-contained sensor unit, the rear wheel torque transducer is a direct replacement for your existing real wheel sprocket carrier. The innovative design allows torque to be measured at the rear wheel, enabling race teams to increase their knowledge, and cost effectively develop their motorcycles, in a way that was not possible before.
The KBP Series of miniature low profile load cells are designed for the detection and measurement of compression forces on brake and other pedal applications in on-vehicle testing.
